Global stability is now the key issue of our time. The only way to achieve better global stability is to improve international relations from the perspective of human dignity and the fact that all life is now truly interdependent. The new movements that place themselves against international institutions have no answer to these facts. International trade, the internet and especially our shared environment force us to find international answers to international challenges. Global stability is defined by political stability, a balanced economy, fair trade, a culture of fundamental freedoms and protection of our environment. Each international institution should end those ideological agendas that do not offer solutions to these challenges. The left-liberal agenda to end identity and promote a sexual revolution does not provide the common ground we need to find across the globe. All diplomatic efforts need to focus on the real challenges. One crucial element in this common effort is the role of religion. Often overlooked or pushed aside as irrelevant, religious institutions clearly offer a vital bridge between global challenges for most citizens. For example, large environmental organisations should explore how they can cooperate with religious institutions, which often have a staggering reach on the local level. The EU is well-placed to become the key to global stability. Not only can the EU support a culture of freedom, it can also provide its own model and spirit of cooperation to other continents where similar structures are emerging. By focusing on a balanced global economy, the EU can be a force for good. At the same time, it is obvious that a stronger common military effort is needed to end global jihadism. NATO, together with African and Asian partners, needs to face and defeat this threat, as no dialogue is possible with terrorists. Countries that deliberately support jihadism or jihadist ideology need to face financial and diplomatic consequences. The military approach is, however, only effective if it is accompanied by a balanced economy, a culture of freedom and efforts to improve the environment.
